アメリカはでかい・・・

　引き続き出張でアメリカにいます。。。昨日（今は早朝なので）は一日移動に費やしましたが。とにかくアメリカという国はでかいですね。あらためて感じました。

　今回はサンフランシスコからオクラホマ州に移動してきたのですが。なんとほぼ丸一日です。単に移動に時間がかかるという訳ではなくて、それに時差もついてまわるから。サンフランシスコとオクラホマの時差は2時間。

　ちなみに昨日は、サンフランシスコを朝早く出発してユナイテッドに乗って、デンバーでトランジット。マイレッジの関係からできるだけユナイテッドと決めているのですが。日本やアジアの航空会社と比べるとサービスはいまいちですね。。おっと、話がそれましたが、デンバーから一路オクラホマへ。飛行機とトランジットで5時間。それに加えて時差がのってきて、時間で言えば7時間なんです。

　空港からレンタカーしてホテルに着いたわけですが。すっかり夕方。ふぅ～。しかも夜になっても眠くないし。なにせ2時間ほど時間すすんでしまったので。。。これ、結構つらいですね。仕事でアメリカ全土を回っている人がいたら、国内だけでも大変。

　ちなみに夜にニューヨークに住んでいる友人に電話したのですが。こことも時差が1時間。最初はアメリカ着いたときにサンフランシスコから電話したのですが。この場合3時間。プライベートな電話なので、仕事以外の時間に電話しようと思ったのですが。なかなか難しい。結局サンフランシスコの夜7時に電話して、ニューヨークの夜10時という感じでしたが。はは。日本では考えられませんね。

　携帯電話もアメリカでは携帯会社がすっごく多くて、Verizonの携帯電話がここオクラホマでは見事にローミングされています。ローミングと呼ぶのかな？Extended Networkと表示されていますが。
